South Coast Office

Please note that South Coast is in the process of having a new website built in accordance with Department Regulations and unfortunately this website is not necessarily up to date as we no longer have a website coordinator and we are unable to add some types of additional items. 

The South Coast School Sport office is open daily from 9:00am - 4:30pm, however would you please phone before you come in to make sure someone is in attendance - 5656 6761 - new phone number.

Welcome to the official website of South Coast School Sport, an official unit within Education Queensland.

This office manages representative school sport (state and non-state) at both the Primary and Secondary levels and is guided by a representative body, the South Coast School Sport Board.

Geographically, our regional boundaries extend north to Shailer Park, west to Beaudesert and south to the NSW border.

Athlete Assistance Programs

Young Athletes Assistance Program
The South Coast School Sports Board would like to make Athletes and their Parents/Caregivers aware of possible funding through the Queensland Department of Communities (Sport and Recreation Services) “Young Athlete Assistance Program”.  This program aims to provide funding for young athletes within Queensland who have competed at a state sporting or state school championship, national sporting or national school championship or international championship.  Financial assistance of $200 is available to assist with the cost of travel and accommodation for events that are at least 200 radial km away from the student’s place of residence and must be made AFTER attending the eligible event.  For information regarding eligibility, scope of assistance and how to apply, interested applicants are urged to search the following Queensland Government website: http://www.nprsr.qld.gov.au/funding/overview/young-athlete.html

South West Indigenous Network
 
Applications for SWIN Small Grants Program with indigenous athletes and teams across the South East region encouraged to apply for funding subsidies to assist with items such as team levy's and registration fees for representative sporting sides.
 Potential applicants must meet approved program criteria for applications to be successful and these criteria are clearly outlined in the application package. Application forms are available at this link: http://www.swin.org.au/small-grants-funding-south-east

 SWIN’s funding covers 75% of the compulsory cost (Team Levy and uniforms).  All applicants must provide an aboriginality confirmation or complete a Statutory declaration signed by a JP .
